Changlimithang Ground Updates

I haven't updated the news on the Progress of The Changlimithang Ground which is underway for the "Celebration of Centenary and Coronation "2008". As the Project is busy with works all around, the first seating gallery stand of the stadium has come up with other rows and structure underway construction. The existing seating gallery stand of the ground is being buried by soil from top which will be replace by the new stadium. The Seating Capacity of around 25000 people once the stadium get completed.

The Grass cover on the main ground is pretty much good at the moment as the Kikuyu(grass name) is spreading slowly all over the main field. With the amount of rainfall within few months time, the ground would be seen lush green. In a news covered today, the maintenance and the development of the Football field is being handed over to Bhutan Football Federation where the work will start from the month of July 2007.

A news report from the project said that as the work for the seating gallery would be started later this week where they would extend it towards the cricket ground end. Will keep update on the News and Events along with picture as we all look forward for the Bhutan 2008. The year Bhutanese people would be remembering for long long time as they would grace the Bhutan Centenary and Coronation Celebration of Fifth King His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk.
