The Famous and sacred Taktsang Monastery located about 20 minutes drive north of Paro, It hangs on a cliff at 3,120 meters (10,200 feet), some 700 meters (2,300 feet) above the bottom of Paro valley. Taktsang Monastery is rated as one of most Amazing Monastery in the World by many people. The place where the Guru Rimpoche flew over the Himalayan from Tibet in the 7th century on the back of a flying Tigress is said to be the origin of Buddhism in Bhutan.
For your kind information, no cameras and bags are allowed while entering the scared monastery for security reason. A Must See Monastery for Everyone.
In 1998,Taktsang Monastery was severely damaged by fire and now has been fully restored.
