Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan, and also the name of the surrounding valley and dzongkhag, the Thimphu District.It is the largest population center in the country. Thimphu is located at are 3000 Meters above sea level.
Tashichoedzong the Seat of Bhutan GovernmentThe Thimphu city is surrounded by hills and mountain and is located along the wang chu.The vegetable markets lies just below the main town area where it open from Friday of every week till sunday. People all over Bhutan come to sell the vegetable and other grocery things.
Thimphu is the only place where there are plenty full of internet and computer hardware shops. The main town is just 1000 meters straight line with shops on both side.
The City corporation and department of road has been building the broader road where in past , it's hard to get past the vehicle and a difficult to give way to the incoming vehicle. The double lane work is near completion and benefited the people a lot. Traffic in Thimphu is less or not at all except if there is blockage or something on the way.
As Bhutan celebrates the 100 years of Monarchy, preparation has been on in the Changlimithang Ground which host the important events of the Bhutan, like National Day, Coronation of His Majesty, Birth anniversary of His Majesty the King. The official coronation of 5th King of Bhutan, His Majesty Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk and 100 years of Monarchy Celebration will take place in the Changlimithang Ground.
As Bhutanese people and school children from all over Bhutan comes to Thimphu looking for jobs , housing has been a biggest threat until the Government housing plan and got lot of house in Changiji.
