If I start writing long ago in 1955 on 11th November a prince was born ….. it would sound like history wouldn’t it……..
So I will start like this………
I was born on 23rd December 1982 and in the process of growing up and learning about the culture of my country I knew that My Country was a Kingdom and the MAN who ruled it was His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
It was always nice to know and learn more about His Majesty……
While in College in India, I had the Buttons of Both my Kings, His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck and The Then Chottse Penlop Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and it was quite a topic for me to talk about them………
seeing His majesty On the Indian Channel was quite a feature too, as in the class the students would say, "we saw your King".
While at home in Pune too, when my host family had their friends over for dinner and they introduced me and my Country, I still remember them saying, Oh Bhutan, Nice Country, Very Good King and the Concept of Gross National Happiness.
I admit that I wasn’t such a good talker but to know the fact that people Knew MY… I mean OUR King was something else…..
I Love My King as Much as any other Bhutanese Does and one dream I would want to come true is to have an live Audience with My king….
Gosh if only…………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i like Bhutan, and i respect it's culture.. it's a great place. But sometimes i feel they are too strict to common people. good thing they are preserving the culture, but people should be able to wear whatever they like in the country, right?

Skm Daddy, you rite, Bhutan is still coming in the world arena, and we believe in preserving the culture and tradition that our ancestor has been , people wear anything they like but when it comes to the national dress, i guess we look much smarter ! :-) :-) .. thanks for your thought. Bhutan is coming up with the age now!!
