July 22 2009 was the most memorable and historic day for all the people living in Asian region as i along with millions of people whole over the world enjoyed the longest and most Spectacular solar eclipse of the 21st Century. There was total darkness in the capital City Thimphu when the Moon completely covered the sun and lasted about a minute or so.

you're so blessed to be able to witness the eclipse. looks truly amazing, no wonder so many cultures have had so many beliefs about the eclipse.

we had a partial eclipse here but i overslept so i was not able to see it.

Didn't see anything on account of the rain and clouds. But your photos are amazing! And I feel truly blessed! :D Thank you for putting them up. :D Where did you watch the eclipse from? Sangaygang or Buddha Hill (or whatever it is called..)? :D

Arcibaldo, I woke up two hours ahead of the Solar Eclipse and was excited about it, I know different culture has different beliefs.

KC!! Long time, Thanks for dropping by, well i went to Buddha Hill to itness the Eclipse. Unfortunatel i couldn't get a good picture because of the clouds covered when the Total Eclipse happened, Nevertheless i had my shot for it.

Slightly sad for you that the eclipse was apparently hard to see because of the combination of clouds and early hour in the day.

I had the opportunity to watch the total 1999 solar eclipse in France and that has been such a magic moment that one of my dreams is to be able to watch another one again. Mixing this with another dream (visiting Bhutan again) would be great;.:-)

Willow - It was an Memorable Day for me too. The Eclipse was such an Spectacular to watch on that day but the cloud has not spare it's mercy on the onlookers. The Total Eclipse lasted for about 30 seconds or a minute but the whole eclipse lasted for about half hour or so.

Bubulle: It was indeed Sad when the Cloud covered and we couldn't get an clear view of the Eclipse but it was an extraordinary Eclipse which would be in my Mind for so long. I have seen the photo of Eclipse which was taken in France 1999 and it looked beautiful. Hopefully

Travel Guide - It was truly an great one. Lucky that i could see it with my naked eyes.

Whoa! I wonder what the peeps who went on an excursion to Bhutan felt when they saw the Total Solar eclipse! It must have been awesome to be able to catch something so rare in a very special place that you can only visit every once in a while.
